Injured Boston Marathon Spectator Grew up in Bowie
Erika Brannock, 29, had her leg amputated after being injured in the bombing, the Baltimore Sun reports.

Towson preschool teacher Erika Brannock, who attended the Boston Marathon on Monday to cheer on her mother, was gravely injured when two bombs went off near the finish line, according to The Baltimore Sun.
The paper reports that Brannock, who grew up in Bowie and Ellicott City, was heavily sedated until Wednesday. She had her left leg amputated below the knee and sustained other injuries as a result of the blasts.
Jocelyn Wood-Garrish, Brannock's cousin, told The Sun that Brannock is now aware and communicating with her family via writing and has requested photographs of her students. She is expected to undergo more surgeries and be in the hospital for at least a month.
