Ribbon Cutting Planned For Major Store Chain Opening Location In Bowie

BOWIE, MD — Another Lidl will be opening its doors in Prince George's County at the Woodmore Commons Shopping Center.

Lidl US will be opening Aug. 13 at 2017 St. Josephs Drive with hours of 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily. An official ribbon cutting ceremony will be held at 7:40 a.m. that same day.

"With the opening of our new Bowie store, we’ll have several deals available for myLidl shoppers. For the store opening, we’ll offer BOGO on all bakery items, including our famous croissants. Shoppers can also save up to 50% using the myLidl app, with butcher’s specialty fresh ribeye steaks for $5.99 each and butcher’s specialty boneless skinless chicken breast for $1.89/lb.," a spokesperson told Patch.

There will be six weeks of grand opening deals to celebrate the new store's opening, according to the Lidl US spokesperson:

• 8/20 – 8/26: 30% Off Fresh Produce

• 9/17 – 9/23: 30% Off Snack Day Chips

The new Bowie Lidl US spans approximately 27,000 square feet, the company spokesperson told Patch. It becomes the seventh store in Prince George's County and the 22nd store in Maryland.

"The opening of our Bowie location represents another important step in Lidl US’s expansion across Maryland. We are proud to deepen our commitment to the state by bringing fresh products, great prices and additional jobs to the Bowie community," the company spokesperson told Patch.

Lidl US offers traditional grocery store goods as well as home goods, decor, health and fitness items, seasonal products, international goods and more. Some of the new items available at the Bowie location include Lidl's angel hair chocolate treat featuring pişmaniye (Turkish cotton candy), rich raspberry chocolate and creamy pistachio filling; the brand new banana nut muffin; the new butcher's specialty private label meat brand; and preferred selection pizzas.
