Police Arrest Lanham Man Suspected Of Shooting Another Man During Argument

Prince George's Police has arrested a Lanham man they say shot another man during an argument.

LANHAM, MD — A 25-year-old Lanham man has been arrested and charge in connection to a fatal shooting that happened in Lanham May 19.

According to the Prince George's County Police Department, around 8:20 p.m. May 19, police officers were called to the 9300 block of Lanham Severn Road for a report of a shooting. Officers found 33-year-old Cameron Smith of Lanham with multiple gunshot wounds. Smith was taken to a hospital where he died a short time later. A second victim also was shot but his injuries were not considered life-threatening.

During their investigation, detectives identified 25-year-old Kyon Adams of Lanham as the suspect. Their investigation indicates that Adams shot Smith during an argument.

Adams has been charged with first-degree murder and related charges. He’s in the custody of the Department of Corrections on a no-bond status.
