CAMP SPRINGS, MD — Two men now face murder charges after police say the man they assaulted in Camp Springs in 2018 died 13 months later from his injuries.

Police were called to the 6200 block of Allentown Road on March 29, 2018, to a report of an assault, and they found 38-year-old Leroy Evans, Jr., of Temple Hills unresponsive on the sidewalk, according to a report from the Prince George's County Police Department. He was taken to a hospital for treatment, and then transferred to a nursing facility where he remained until he died on May 1 of this year.

That same month, police arrested 31-year-old Bryan Bullock of Capitol Heights and 60-year-old James Moore, Jr., of Temple Hills for the initial assault and held them without bond, the report states. Police believe that the suspects and victim knew each other, and the assault stemmed from an argument.

After an autopsy, his death was ruled a homicide in August because of complications from head trauma, police say.

Now, in addition to first and second degree assault and reckless endangerment charges, Bullock and Moore also face a charge of common law murder, the report states.
