Suitland Man Fatally Shot Following 2-Vehicle Crash In Morningside

A Suitland man has died after police say he was shot following a 2-vehicle crash in Morningside this past weekend, police say.

MORNINGSIDE, MD — Detectives are investigating a fatal shooting that happened this weekend right after a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Suitland Road and Randolph Road.

On Oct. 26 around 12:50 a.m., Morningside police officers and Prince George's County police officers were called to the intersection for a report of a shooting and a crash. An investigation indicated that the shooting of 38-year-old Joseph Holtz of Suitland happened after the crash, according to the police department. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

Two guns were recovered at the scene. Investigators have identified all the individuals involved in the crash and shooting. At this time, there are no charges against those involved. Anyone with information about this case who would like to speak to a detective can call 301-516-2512.
