Man Fatally Shot While Robbing Restaurant, Assaulting Employees: Police
A man robbing a restaurant in Capitol Heights was fatally shot by an employee. Witnesses say he was assaulting employees, police reported.
CAPITOL HEIGHTS, MD — Police are investigating a fatal shooting that happened inside a carryout restaurant in the 5200 block of Marlboro Pike Aug. 29.
The incident happened around 4:40 p.m. Prince George's Police were called to Oriental Express for a report of a shooting. They found 27-year-old Victor Rios Rubio of Capitol Heights fatally shot. The preliminary investigation indicates an employee shot the man as the suspect was robbing the restaurant and assaulting employees. The weapon used was recovered on the scene. There were no customers inside of the business at the time of the shooting, according to police.
