Man Gets 195 Years For PG County Police Station Attack: Report

Jacai Colson was killed by friendly fire, but a jury convicted the man who attacked the station three years ago for his death.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD -- A man has been sentenced to 195 years in prison after his attack on a Prince George's County police station three years ago resulted in the death of a detective, even though he wasn't the shooter.

Michael Deandre Ford, 25, was convicted of second-degree murder in November for creating the conditions that led to 28-year-old Jacai Colson's death, and was sentenced late last week, according to the Washington Post.

Colson was gunned down by a fellow officer who thought he was the gunman in the attack on the Palmer Park police station on March 13, 2016.

Sheila Colson, the victim's mother, slammed Prince George's County officials in tearful testimony for not charging the officer who was "reckless" in firing on her son, according to the report.

Two of Ford's younger brothers, who drove him to the police station, were also sentenced -- 12 years for 21-year-old Elijah Ford, and 20 years for 24-year-old Malik Ford. Michael Ford was also found guilty on 30 counts of assault and weapons charges.
