Police Identify Bowie Man Hit, Killed By 2 Cars On Thanksgiving

A Bowie man was struck and killed by two cars as he crossed a road in the Adelphi area on Thanksgiving night, police said.

ADELPHI, MD — A Bowie man was struck and killed by two cars as he crossed a road in the Adelphi area of Prince George's County Thanksgiving night, police said. The victim is Serge Deumeni, 40, of Gerrards Hope Drive in Bowie, according to Prince George's County Police.

Investigators say the driver of the first car remained on the scene, while the second driver did not stay. Investigators are working to identify the second driver. The accident occurred near the intersection of Metzerott Road and New Hampshire Avenue near Silver Spring at around 7:30 p.m., police said.

Deumeni was found in the roadway unresponsive and pronounced dead at the scene.

The second driver may not have realized they hit the victim because he was already on the ground from the first collision, police said. Police said the second driver was driving a small sedan in an unknown color.
