Man Tosses Gun, Hitches Ride On PGCPS Bus From Suitland To DC With Kids On Board
Police are investigating an incident where a man got onto a PGCPS bus and rode to D.C. with kids on board.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — Police are investigating an incident that happened on a Prince George's school bus Wednesday.
According to the Prince George's Police Department, an individual called 911 around 2:05 p.m. Oct. 23 and reported a man who climbed on board a school bus that had three elementary school students on it at the time. Prince George's police officers arrived in the 4100 block of Suitland Road and stopped the bus, then determined all the students were safe. But the man wasn't on the bus, according to police.
A preliminary investigation revealed the bus driver knew the man, who police say was armed before boarding the bus, picked him up and gave him a ride on the bus to Washington, D.C., with the students on board before returning to Prince George's County. Police say the driver knew the man and possibly was related to him.
