Man Tries To Lure Child Into His Vehicle Near PGC School: Police

OXON HILL, MD -- Police are investigating a disturbing incident in Oxon Hill on Friday morning.

A young girl was walking in the area of Livingston Road and Hart Road at around 8:45 a.m. toward Oxon Hill Elementary School, according to a report from the Prince George's County Police Department.

"The girl tells officers a man driving a gray pickup truck pulled up next to her and attempted to lure her into his vehicle," the report states. "At that point, a second, unrelated car pulled up behind the suspect's vehicle. The second driver honked at the suspect whose pickup was impeding traffic. The suspect drove away and the young girl ran off. She reported the incident once she arrived at school."

Police described the suspect as a Hispanic man in his 30s.

"The man did not touch or grab the girl," the report states. "PGPD was alerted of the incident and sent additional resources to the school this afternoon prior to dismissal. At this time, there are no additional reports of this kind in that area."

Police ask that anyone who has seen this vehicle or has information to contact them.
