Maryland Weekend Weather: Break From the Heat

Slightly cooler temps this weekend as we try to dodge some afternoon storms. Heat will return next week. Here's the latest forecast:

This weekend, we'll recover from the dangerous temps that reached their worst on Thursday, with a "feels like" temperature near 105 degrees. But only for a few days, according to the National Weather Service.

The weekend starts with a high near 93 degrees Friday, along with a heat index that will still make it uncomfortable outside. There's a slight chance for storms mid-day and in the afternoon.

Temperatures the rest of the weekend will be limited to the high 80s.

Saturday will offer another chance for afternoon storms. Sunday will be mostly sunny.

The story for the start of the work week will be the return of the high temps. We'll reach 93 degrees on Monday. Temperatures next week will be higher than normal, but states in the South and Midwest will see worse spikes, according to The Weather Channel.

Friday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11am. Mostly sunny, with a high near 92. West wind 7 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Saturday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 11am. Partly sunny, with a high near 88. Light and variable wind becoming west 5 to 7 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 20%.

Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 88. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph.

Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 93.
