A motorcyclist is dead and a 2nd injured after one driver swerved around a cow in the road hitting a guardrail. The 2nd driver hit the cow.
UPPER MARLBORO, MD — A 24-year-old Catonsville motorcyclist died early Sunday morning after police say he swerved to avoid a cow in the road and hit a guardrail. A second motorcyclist was injured in the incident after police say he directly hit the cow.
Prince George's police officers were called to the 3400 block of Ritchie Marlboro Road Oct. 27 around 12:30 a.m. for a report of a crash involved two motorcycles and a cow. Officers found Justin Crosby on the side of the road with critical injuries. He was pronounced dead on the scene. A second ride was found in the road, but his injuries weren't life-threatening, according to the police department.
The preliminary investigation indicated Crosby and the second rider were heading northbound on Ritchie Marlboro Road. The second rider collided with the cow that had wandered into the road. Crosby was able to avoid hitting the cow but appeared to have lost control of his motorcycle and hit a guardrail. The cow was killed during the collision.
