Person Fatally Hit By Vehicle After Walking Onto U.S. 301 At Croom Road: Police

A person was fatally hit by a vehicle early Friday morning after walking onto U.S. 301 at Croom Road, according to Maryland State Police.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A person was fatally hit by a vehicle Friday when the individual walked into lane three of northbound U.S. 301 (Crain Highway) at Croom Road, police say.

The incident happened around 5:30 a.m. Sept. 6. The person was pronounced dead on the scene. The individual's identity isn't being released until family members have been notified, according to Maryland State Police.

The driver and only person in the involved vehicle wasn't injured. All lanes on northbound Crain Highway were closed. The Maryland State Police Crash Team is leading the investigation.
