Probationary Officer Charged With Assault With Deadly Weapon
A probationary Prince George's County police officer was suspended after he was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon in D.C.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — A probationary officer with the Prince George's County Police Department has been suspended after he was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon by D.C. Police.
Probationary Police Officer Zaid Abed was off duty at the time of his arrest early Sunday morning, police said.
Abed was a probationary officer assigned to the Burea of Patrol. He is currently suspended.

After graduating from the police academy, officers are placed in a probationary status during their first year. Abed has been employed by the Prince George's County Police Department for 11 months..
Prince George's County Police Department's Special Investigation Response Team launched an administrative investigation into the arrest, police said.
