Rape, Sex Abuse Of A Minor Charges Filed Against Police Corporal
A Hyattsville police corporal has been charged with 2nd-degree rape, the sexual abuse of a minor andtwo sex offenses, officials say.
HYATTSVILLE, MD —A corporal with the Hyattsville Police Department has been indicted on charges involving rape and the sexual abuse of a minor.
Prince George’s County State’s Attorney Tara Jackson announced that Jonathan Monge has been indicted on the following charges:

- Sexual abuse of a minor;
- Second-degree rape;
- Third-degree sex offense;
- Fourth-degree sex offense.
Due to the victim’s age and the sensitive nature of the allegations, no additional details were released by officials.
Monge has been with the police department for five years and was placed on administrative leave without pay, officials noted.

"The department takes these charges extremely seriously and is fully cooperating with the Office of the State’s Attorney for Prince George’s County," officials said. "The Hyattsville Police Department is also conducting a separate internal administrative investigation."
