A former aide at a Glenarden elementary school was sentenced Thursday to 100 years in prison for child sex abuse and child porn.

UPPER MARLBORO, MD — A former aide at a Prince George's County elementary school was sentenced Thursday to 100 years in prison after pleading guilty to almost two dozen counts of sexual exploitation and child pornography charges.

Deonte Carraway, 23, of Glenarden admitted he used a cell phone to record him performing sex acts with children ages nine to 11 while he worked at Judge Sylvania Woods Elementary School in Glenarden, prosectors said.

Carraway was sentenced to a total of 395 years in prison in the Prince George's Courthouse in Upper Marlboro Monday, after he pleaded guilty to 23 counts of sex abuse and child pornography charges. In August, he was sentenced on federal charges to 75 years in prison. Prosecutors believe Carraway abused at least 23 children between the local and federal cases.

Prosecutors say Carraway reached out to minor males and encouraged them to send him images and videos of children engaged in sexually explicit conduct, prosecutors said. He also sent explicit content to children via his cell phone.

He admitted to starting a club with children and said children who wanted to join the club must send him sexually explicit images of themselves via cell phone messenger applications, prosecutors said.

On February 4, 2016, a victim's relative called police after they discovered a nude photo on a 9-year-old boy's cell phone, police said. Carraway allegedly sent the boy a photo through the "Kik" messenger app. Carraway was arrested by Prince George's County Police on Feb. 5, 2016.

WTOP reports Carraway's attorney in the federal case, public defender John Chamble, fought for a lighter sentence due to Carraway's history as a victim of sex abuse when he was a child.

Police believe sex abuse and/or child pornography was also produced by Carraway at the Glenarden Municipal Center, Theresa Banks Memorial Aquatic Center and in private homes. Police also learned Carraway abused a child at Zion Praise Tabernacle Lutheran Church in Bowie.
