Police Searching For Stranger Who Inappropriately Touched UMD Student Walking Down Street

A UMD student reported being inappropriately touched by a stranger while she was walking along College Avenue Friday, police say.

COLLEGE PARK, MD — A student reported being inappropriately touched by a stranger while walking along College Avenue Friday shortly before 11:30 a.m.

According to the University of Maryland Police, the woman was walking in the 4600 block of College near the intersection of Princeton Avenue and College Avenue at 11:27 a.m. when a young man approached her and began asking questions. During this time, he touched her inappropriately then took off running down College Avenue and onto the hiker-biker trail, police said.

The victim described the suspect to police as being Hispanic with straight black hair standing approximately 5'6 to 5'7 tall. He was wearing a black shirt and red joggers at the time of the incident. If anyone has information about what happened, they are asked to call detectives at 301-405-3555.
