Sunday Laundromat Shooting In Edmonston Ends With 1 Dead, 2 Injured And A Car Chase
One person was fatally shot in a laundromat Sunday and 2 others injured. A 17-year-old suspect led police on a car chase before his arrest.
EDMONSTON, MD — Two suspects have been charged in connection to the fatal shooting that happened Sunday inside a laundromat in Edmonston. One suspect is 17 years old and he will be charged as an adult.
On Sept. 8 around 6 p.m., Prince George's police officers were called to the 4700 block of Kenilworth Avenue for a report of a shooting. They found 18-year-old Anibal Suazo of Lothian inside the laundromat with gunshot wounds. Suazo was pronounced dead on the scene. A woman also was found with gunshot wounds that weren't considered life-threatening, police reported.
One of the suspects, 20-year-old Alex Delgado of Silver Spring, was found outside the laundromat with gunshot wounds that weren't considered life-threatening. The 17-year-old boy took off in a car but with the help of the police department's Guardian helicopter, officers were able to arrest him after a car chase, police said.

The preliminary investigation indicates the two suspects targeted Suazo at the laundromat and knew each other. The suspects approached and began to physically assault him. During the assault, Delgado shot both victims. Suazo returned fire. The motive for the assault and shooting is under investigation. Two weapons were recovered at the scene, the police department disclosed.
Both suspects have been charged with first-degree murder and related charges.
