FAIRMOUNT HEIGHTS, MD -- Police are investigating after a transgender woman was fatally shot in Fairmount Heights on Saturday. A citizen called 911 at around 6:20 a.m. after hearing gunshots in the area of the 5000 block of Jost Street, and police found a <a href="http://pgpolice.blogspot.com/2019/04/pgpd-investigating-fatal-shooting-in.html" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">victim in the roadway</a>, according to a report from the Prince George's County Police Department. Police identified the victim as 27-year-old Gerry Carmon of Alexandria, Va., a transgender woman whose first name was Ashanti. Police say she had been shot multiple times and was pronounced dead at the scene.
