Trash Pick-Up Twice A Week A Goal For Prince George's County
Prince George's County council member Monique Anderson-Walker said leaders are working to restore two-day-a-week trash pick-ups.

PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY — The Prince George's County council is taking the next steps in bringing back trash pick-ups twice a week.
Council member Monique Anderson-Walker said her office has been working to come up with solutions for two-day trash pick-ups.
“As I promised during my campaign for office, my staff and I have been working diligently to bring back two-day-a-week trash pick-up, leaf pick-up, and more consistent bulk trash pick-up to our county.” Anderson-Walker said in a press release, “We understand the importance of adding an additional trash day for health and environmental reasons.”

Last December, Anderson-Walker’s office submitted a request to draft legislation reexamining the financial affect of twice-a-week trash collection in comparison to once-a-week trash collection.
According to the press release, Prince George’s County Executive Angela Alsobrooks agreed the county council should proceed with efforts to bring back twice-a-week trash pick-ups because of the volume of household trash and health concerns.

Anderson-Walker said, “With these successes, I am confident that we are working to provide solutions for two-day trash pick-up in the next coming months.
