The record number of candidates will be interviewed at City Hall on Jan. 10 and 12. Each person will have a 15 minute timeslot where they will make a statement and be interviewed by the City Council.
To ensure that no candidates get an unfair advantage, the meetings will be closed to the public. The sessions will be recorded and broadcasted on the government channel after the new At-Large Councilmember is appointed.

The Council consists of the mayor, two Councilmembers elected at-large, and four Councilmembers elected by their districts. The search for a new At-Large Councilmember began in December when Todd Turner accepted a position on the Prince George’s County Council. This is the first time that there has been a mid-term vacancy since January 2011.
