What's Open, Closed On Independence Day 2024 In Bowie, Prince George's County
Patch has the scoop on July 4 holiday trash pick-up schedule adjustments and office closures.
PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, MD — With the Fourth of July falling on a Thursday, government offices will be closed and some services will be altered in observance of Independence Day.
Regular trash, bulky and recycling collection services for residents receiving county-provided services on Thursday will slide to Friday and Friday's pick-up schedule will bump to Saturday.
Maryland courts will be closed Thursday.

The Prince George's County Memorial Library System branches will be closed in observance of the 4th of July. Other branches may have additional closures due to ongoing projects.
In Bowie, city offices will be closed July 4. There will be no refuse or recycling services Thursday; services will resume on the next regularly scheduled day.

In Greenbelt, city offices will be closed July 4. The refuse/recycling collection will follow a slide schedule.
In Upper Marlboro, city offices will be closed.
In Hyattsville, city offices will be closed July 4 and there will be no yard waste or compost pickup this week. Thursday’s trash route will move to Wednesday; other routes remain the same. County recycling routes will move from Thursday to Friday and from Friday to Saturday.
In College Park, city offices will be closed July 4. Only bulk and special collections will be affected. Special collections for brush and bulky items will only be scheduled for Friday.
In Riverdale Park, the city office will be closed Thursday. The waste collection schedule will not change.
In University Park, the town hall will be closed Thursday.
TheBus will operate Thursday but resume regular operations Friday. The county’s Call-A-Bus and PGC Link services, including dialysis transportation, will not operate July 4 either.
PGC311 will be closed Independence Day and resume regular operations Friday. However, residents can still submit service/issue requests online at www.countyclick311.com.
