PHOTOS: Post Your St. Baldrick's Day Head-Shavers
O'Loughlin's was packed to near standing-room only when festivities kicked into overdrive around 3 p.m.

Sponsored head-shavers raise funds for the St. Baldrick's Foundation, a volunteer-driven charity committed to funding research for childhood cancer. On Sunday, dozens lined up to have their hair removed for a good cause.
Maggie Edwards' son Billy has participated in the last four years of St. Baldrick's head-shaving event. She said this year was particularly special, because it was the first time they had held the event without Joey Sudo, a friend of the Edwards family.

Joey, a Severn River Middle schooler who suffered from a rare form of pediatric brain cancer. He was diagnosed at age 7, and died in April 2012. Joey's story has become a rallying point for several people in the county for the St. Baldrick's event, and his name was heard more than a few times at the Sunday event.
"There was a lot of remembering him on Sunday—tears and joy for what everybody was doing, and how big this event has gotten, and how important," Edwards said.

O'Loughlin's in Arnold was packed to near standing-room only when festivities kicked into overdrive around 3 p.m. There was a tent behind the shopping center with live music being played, similarly filled with people. Patch reader Ryan Barber caught a snapshot of the inside of the tent.
