Here are the top three stories in Catonsville today:

  1. A Baltimore man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for his involvement in an armed robbery in nearby Owing Mills in 2020. Following the incident, 23-year-old Rico Dashiell was apprehended by law enforcement when a stolen vehicle used in the robbery was tracked to a single-family home in Catonsville. Dashiell was arrested alongside two co-conspirators who allegedly assisted with the robbery of a local phone store. (United States Department of Justice)
  2. The Catonsville Chamber of Commerce's 49th Annual Arts & Crafts Festival takes place this Sunday, Sep. 11, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Christian Athletic Association. Explore unique handmade merchandise from local artists, enjoy live music and family-friendly activities, and stop for a bite to eat from one of the many food vendors. Admission is free for all ages.   3. Baltimore County Public Schools launched the 2022-2023 Mind Over Matters Campaign this week in tandem with World Suicide Prevention Week. The campaign with continue through the school year, with the theme of "Kindness Matters" running now through the end of November.
