  1. The Baltimore County Police Department Crash Team is investigating Monday's, Oct. 10, fatal pedestrian crash in the 3800 block of Dundalk Avenue. A vehicle fatally hit 63-year-old Gabriel Cedeno Hurtado as he was attempting to cross the roadway. The driver fled the scene, but officers located the vehicle in the 3500 block of Sollers Point Road. The driver, 33-year-old Edwin Rivera, has been charged with Driving Under the Influence and additional charges are pending. He is currently being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center without bail. (Press Release Desk)
  2. Bobby Van Allen, a Catonsville native, built a dynasty out of the Blue Jays, the Johns Hopkins women's cross country team. Laura Paulsen, a 2010 graduate who qualified for all four NCAA cross country championships during her time with the Blue Jays, summed up Allen's huge accomplishments when she said he has "won practically every national cross country championship for the women since 2012."   3. Later this month, don't miss "Pumpkin Palooza" at the Catonsville Branch of Baltimore County Public Library (BCPL). During the event, participants will celebrate the arrival of autumn by painting a pumpkin to take home. Pumpkin Palooza will take place on Oct. 24, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., for kids six to 11.
