Here are the top three stories today in Catonsville:

  1. Despite court rulings that allow mail-in ballot counting to begin ahead of Maryland's Nov. 8 election, Baltimore County election officials plan to wait until after Election Day. According to Baltimore County Elections Director Ruie Lavoie, the rulings came too late and there were already too many things to do in October, such as training election judges and picking up supplies. More than 81,000 requests for mail-in ballots were received from the 607,000 eligible voters across Baltimore County. (WYPR Baltimore)
  2. A new study by the University of Maryland's School of Pharmacy found that Marylanders could pay $800 million over the next 30 years due to airplane noise around BWI Marshall Airport. The increased noise from lower-flying planes could result in medical expenses, lost productivity, and lost time in the neighborhoods surrounding airports in Anne Arundel, Howard and Baltimore counties. 3. On Tuesday night, Oct. 11, the Catonsville girls' soccer team played Towson in a 2-2 tie. Jordan Edwards, one of seven seniors honored before the game, scored both goals for Catonsville. (Subscription: Baltimore Sun)
