Here are the top three stories today in Catonsville:

  1. On Monday, Oct. 24, the Baltimore County Bureau of Solid Waste Management (BSWM) will hold a public hearing about proposed changes to solid waste collection regulations. The Baltimore County Department of Public Works & Transportation (DPWT) is proposing revisions on bulk item collection and yard material set-out requirements in BSWM's "Regulation for Baltimore County Residential Trash and Recycling Collection."(Nottingham MD)
  2. This fall, Maryland voters will decide the state's marijuana policy. Question 4 will ask whether voters want to amend the state's constitution to legalize cannabis. Baltimore County parent Mark Marchione said, "I think the number of people it's going to hurt is going to be a lot more than anybody it's going to help." On the other side, Baltimore resident Haley Slocum said, "There's no reason people shouldn't be able to enjoy it in their own homes and do it safely." According to a Washington Post-UMD poll in September, 73 percent of registered Maryland voters support cannabis legalization. (CBS Baltimore News)
