Here are the top three stories in Catonsville today:

  1. On Tuesday, Aug. 30, Baltimore County Councilwoman Cathy Bevins said she will withdraw the proposed bill that would have exempted waterfront restaurants and marinas from certain environmental requirements. Many residents and environmental advocates were critical of the proposed bill, which would have allowed the restaurants and marinas to add new structures up to the water's edge without a vegetation buffer. 2. On Tuesday night (Aug. 3o) Baltimore County fire crews responded to a crash involving a train and tractor-trailer at Chesaco Avenue and Dalrose Avenue. No injuries were reported and the crash is still under investigation as of Wednesday. (Fox 45 News Baltimore)
  3. Doozy's, a "classic diner," is set to open in Catonsville in mid-September. The restaurant is located at 10 Mellor Avenue, formerly occupied by Duesenberg's American Cafe & Grill. The new owners want to keep the classic diner feel of the former cafe, but also add new Mexican specialties to the menu. (Subscription: Baltimore Sun)
