Here are the top three stories in Catonsville today:
- Despite there being three violent incidents in three days, including the Saturday shooting of two teens in Catonsville, Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski assured residents that Baltimore County is a safe place to live. On Tuesday, Oct. 4, he said, "Our Baltimore County Police Department does an outstanding job of solving these types of crimes and we remind folks that if you commit a crime, we will find you, we will arrest you, [and] hold you accountable." (Fox Baltimore)
- On Tuesday night, Oct. 4, the candidates for Baltimore County executive faced off and answered questions from the audience. Democrat incumbent Johnny Olszewski and Republican challenger Pat McDonough had "heated exchanges" at times during the event. View the link to see what they had to say. (WBAL TV)
- The Baltimore County Parent and Student coalition held a rally and a forum last week because parents are sick of the violence in schools and demand accountability. The coalition's coordinator and a parent of two Baltimore County students, Darren Badillo, said the violence is out of control and the students "do whatever they want to do" because the officials do not hold them accountable. A spokesperson for the Baltimore County Public Schools said, "the community should be assured that students are held accountable." View the link to read the full statement. (Fox Baltimore)
