  1. Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski Jr. announced the county made a $10 million agreement to acquire the former Sears building at Security Square Mall along with 18 acres of land at the site. The Security Square Mall site is "a critical anchor for the communities
    on the west side of Baltimore County, and our administration is committed to revitalizing the area and making sure it will serve as a vibrant community hub for years to come," Olszewski Jr. said in the announcement. (Baltimore Sun)
  2. An anonymous Baltimore County man, who teaches at a Maryland elementary school, won $250,000 in the lottery while on a family vacation in Ocean City, Maryland. The 58-year-old teacher bought a $10 scratch-off in Maryland's Gold Rush game at an Acme grocery store. (Wtop News)

  4. On Labor Day weekend 2022, the first-ever Maryland Cycling Classic will take place in Baltimore County and the city of Baltimore. The professional cycling race will feature 16 teams of professional athletes from over 20 countries including recent Tour de France stage winners, Olympians, and national champions.
