  1. Yesterday, Aug. 5, several Baltimore County Schools closed due to power outages from severe storms. CCBC Catonsville told employees to "telework." (WMAR 2 News)
  2. On Aug. 3, Juliette Whitaker of Catonsville won the bronze in the women's 800 meter at the World Athletics U-20 Championships: Cali (COL) 2022. The high school record holder had a time of 2:00.18. (The Sports Examiner)
  3. North America's best boys' and girls' lacrosse players played at the annual All-America Senior Game on Saturday, Jul. 30, at Homewood Field. With over 4,000 fans in the audience, Brian Ruppel of Catonsville stood out as "terrific and up to the task against a firing squad." According to sports writer Ty Xanders, the "stats" had Ruppel with six saves, but "the ESPN broadcast credited him with nine stops and I think that might be more accurate." (Inside Lacrosse)
