Here are the top three stories in Catonsville today:

  1. A Baltimore County Public School (BCPS) chef instructor received the American Culinary Federation honors. Western School of Technology & Environmental Science instructor Lisa Tomecek was among 22 chefs to be recognized this year. The Baltimore County Public Schools' Office of Communications announced that Tomecek was awarded a 2022 Presidential Medallion and was inducted into the American Academy of Chefs. (Avenue News)
  2. The parent-teacher association at Westchester Elementary School in Catonsville decided to provide motivation through art. The association had local Catonsville elementary and middle school artists paint positive messages on bathrooms at the school to encourage and motivate our students. (Subscription: Baltimore Sun)
  3. Young adults from the Archdiocese of Baltimore are invited to experience local and international World Youth Day events through a yearlong series of local pilgrimages that kicks off this month. Dominican Sister Michaela Martinez of Mount de Sales Academy in Catonsville will be one of the speakers at the Baltimore Basilica. The newly appointed rector of the basilica, Father Brendan Fitzgerald, will be the inaugural speaker for the series. (Catholic Review of Baltimore)
