BCPS Registered Dietitian To Compete On Bravo's 'Top Chef'

BCPS senior operations supervisor Bettina Applewhite will be competing on Bravo's "Top Chef" reality show, which airs Thursday.

BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — During the school year, Bettina Applewhite works as senior operations supervisor in the Baltimore County Public Schools' food and nutrition services office. But in her spare time, the registered dietitian-nutritionist loves to cook, so much so that she will be competing on Bravo's "Top Chef Amateurs" reality show series Thursday at 9 p.m. on Bravo TV.

In each 30-minute episode, two amateur chefs, including Applewhite who also is a food blogger, will compete head-to-head in some of the most iconic challenges from the "Top Chef" archives.

The amateur chefs will be paired with different "Top Chef" finalists, frontrunners and fan-favorites to cook alongside and help the amateurs battle against the clock. The winner of each episode will receive $5,000 provided by season-long sponsor Wells Fargo.
