  1. Yesterday, Sep. 9, Baltimore Mayor Brandon M. Scott announced the end of the boil water advisory after the latest round of tests came back negative for E. coli contamination. Residents of the affected areas in Baltimore and Baltimore County, including BCPS Catonsville schools, are no longer advised to boil water before use. But residents in the impacted areas are still encouraged to take specific measures, including letting all the faucets run for 15 minutes and flushing the water lines in refrigerators. View the link to read all the suggested safety measures. (Baltimore City)
  2. The Maryland Department of Health has set up an online system to pre-register for the monkeypox vaccine and be notified when it is available. To be eligible for the vaccine, residents must have self-identified close contact with a person with monkeypox or be an impacted community member with potential monkeypox exposures in the prior two weeks. As of Friday, Sep. 9, there have been 43 confirmed monkeypox cases in Baltimore County and 161 in Baltimore City. (Maryland Patch)
  3. All Saints Sisters of the Poor Convent have hundreds of thousands of honeybees living in 12 colonies scattered across the religious community's 100-acre campus in Catonsville. The sisters harvest and bottle the sweet, raw honey and sell it for $20 a jar in the All Saints Sisters of the Poor gift shop. Learn more about it at the link. (The Dialog)
