Catonsville High Art Students Create Art for Charity
Students painted doors for Baltimore-based veterans program.
For the second year, Catonsville High School's National Art Honor Society were given four doors at the beginning of October to design and paint on for the "RestART with ART" charity event on Veterans Day. This event is organized and executed through the Baltimore Station.
The Catonsville High National Art Honor Society has roughly 100 members.
Teacher Windy Spiridigliozzi said the event is perfect for the group because it brings people together to appreciate art. They begin the process by collecting designs from members. The designs are narrowed down, and the NAHS officers have the final say in the top four designs. The group spends five weeks designing the doors.
The four students who were the primary artists on the doors were: Senior Emily Bock, "Peacock; Senior Kelsey Granger, "Too Many Circles;" Senior Colleen Coleman, "The Zephyr" and Senior Gira Patel, "Eerie Night."
