Celebrating a March 1 Birthday on a Leap Year

What are you doing with your Leap Day or extra day this year?

If you're like me and have a birthday on March 1, you'll be waiting one more day for that special day to arrive.

I wasn't born on a Leap Year, but having a birthday of March 1 makes every fourth year a little odd in the birthday planning.

For the record, my mother told me I was due on March 1. In fact as the story goes, she was in the hospital room pushing the buzzer for a nurse as I was starting to pop out early in the morning. Apparently I like to be on time.

Having a birthday on the first of the month has its advantages, as it is easy for people to remember. Having a birthday on the first of March is even better, because the month leading up to your birthday is shorter than others. You don't have to wait as long!
