Here are the top 3 stories today in Catonsville:

  1. Members of a Catonsville convent are doing their part to help sustain the local bee population. Hundreds of thousands of bees spread across 12 colonies at the campus of the All Saints Sisters of the Poor help to produce the honey, which sisters spend several hours bottling each afternoon in the summer. The raw honey sells for $20 a jar in the convent’s gift shop, with proceeds being invested back into beekeeping activities. (Catholic Review of Baltimore)
  2. The 49th Annual Catonsville Arts & Crafts festival takes place this Sunday, Sep. 11, at the CAA Park. The event will run from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and include dozens of food and merchandise vendors, live music, and outdoor games and activities for attendees of all ages. In the event of rain, the festival will be postponed until Sunday, Sep. 18. (Greater Catonsville Chamber of Commerce)
  3. Public Works officials have offered further guidance on obtaining clean water after E. coli was detected in parts of the Baltimore County water supply. Impacted schools, including Catonsville Elementary, Middle, and High schools, will provide hand sanitizer and bottled water to students and staff members. Those able to donate drinking water or hand sanitizer are encouraged to deliver their contributions to Wylie Funeral Home on Mount Street in Baltimore. (Baltimore Sun)
