Here are the top three stories in Catonsville today:
- Over the course of just two weeks, the Baltimore area has transitioned from "medium" to "high" with respect to COVID-19 community transmission. New data from the CDC indicates there are 283 cases per 100,000 people over the last week, with hospitalizations per case rate growing to 11.8 admissions per 100,000 cases. Health professionals are encouraging residents to wear a mask indoors, regardless of vaccination status, with the latest rise in cases. (Afro News)
- The fourth and final wave of players has been selected for the 17th-annual Under Armour All-America Lacrosse Games on Jul. 30 at Johns Hopkins’ Homewood Field, including Catonsville goalie Brian Ruppel. The girls’ game will start at 5:30 p.m. and the boys’ game will follow at 8:00 p.m.; both will be televised on ESPNU. e. (Baltimore Sun)
