Crime Roundup: Suspect Caught While Breaking Into Home

The following arrest information was supplied by the Baltimore County Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

The following are summaries of incident reports from Precinct One/Wilkens of the Baltimore County Police Department.

First-degree burglary: Sometime between Wednesday, Oct. 26 at 9 a.m. and 5:30 p.m., someone broke into a home, located on the 5700 block of Edmondson Avenue. According to the police report, the suspect entered the home through an unlocked sliding door. Once inside, they stole a chainsaw, a television, jewelry and cash.

Second-degree burglary: On Wednesday, Oct. 26 between 6:50 p.m. and 6:59 p.m., someone entered the Department of Juvenile Services at the First District Courthouse on Walker Avenue. According to the police report, the suspect removed the keys for a 2010 Ford Focus and stole the car.

First-degree arson: On Wednesday night on Oct. 26, someone set fire to a bed spring that was left in the hallway of Meadow Lane Apartments, located on the 4300 block of Alan Drive. The fire department responded and police are investigating two arsons from earlier in the evening.

Arrest in first-degree burglary: On Thursday, Oct. 27 at 10:30 a.m., police were called to the unit block of Delrey Avenue for a burglary in progress. Police arrived and found the suspect, who had stolen an ipod, cash and headphones. Police arrested Durund Nathan Thompson, 21 of the 100 block of Cherrydell Road.

First-degree burglary: Sometime between Friday at 8 p.m. and Saturday at 3:30 p.m., someone broke into a home located on the 200 block of Paradise Avenue. According to the police report, the suspect broke a glass window pane on the front door to get into the house. Once inside, the suspect stole a flatscreen TV, 40 DVDs, a watch, a BB gun and swim bag.

First-degree burglary: On Friday, Oct. 28, someone broke into a home located on the 6300 block of Mount Ridge Road. According to the police report, the suspect entered through an unlocked basement door and stole two X-box game consoles, two TVs and 15 video games.
