  1. Yesterday, Sep. 16, at around 1:00 a.m., 39-year-old Quiana Yvette Washington, of Baltimore, was killed in a three-vehicle crash on I-695 in Catonsville. Investigators believe the SUV, driven by Washington, struck the side of a backhoe on the outer loop of Interstate 695 at Edmondson Avenue. The SUV then struck one of the two MDOT pickup trucks that were escorting the backhoe. An investigation is ongoing. (CBS Baltimore)
  2. Since the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, Maryland abortion clinics have had an influx of out-of-state patients. Hillcrest Clinic, an abortion provider in Catonsville, has reportedly had an increase in patients, with many coming from Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio, and Texas. According to Hillcrest's administrator, Charlotte, the staff has received calls from workers at abortionfinder.org and ineedana.com. Both websites help people locate abortion clinics. (Delmarva Now)
  3. On Wednesday, Sep. 14, a female swimmer sued the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) for allegedly failing to protect her after she reported an abusive relationship with a male teammate. Just two months prior to the lawsuit, an internal investigation confirmed reports of sexual harassment and gender-based discrimination by UMBC's former head swim coach, Chad Cradock, who is included in the lawsuit.
