🌱 Federal Funding For Fire Stations In Catonsville + Internet Grant

Here are the top three stories today in Catonsville:

1. During a visit to Baltimore County Fire Station No. 4 in Catonsville, U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen and Ben Cardin announced legislation to create a new federal funding program. The Fire Station Construction Grants Act will help construct and upgrade fire stations in Maryland and across the country. The program was announced on Aug. 1 and will authorize $1 billion in fire station construction grants. Federal Emergency Management Administration (FEMA) will establish a grant program to modify, upgrade, and construct fire and EMS department facilities. (Van Hollen News)
2. Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski and Comcast Cable have announced a grant to expand high-speed broadband to unserved parts of Baltimore County. The Y22 Network Infrastructure Grant of $10.7 million grant, which was announced on Aug. 2, will impact more than 850 homes. The expansion is expected to be completed in 2025. (Press Release Desk)
3. Do you love dogs? Don't miss "DOGust: Meet WBAL-TV's Tucker, the Puppy with a Purpose" at the Catonsville branch of Baltimore County Public Library.
