Five Takeaways From the Chamber of Commerce Legislative Luncheon

Catonsville's state and county elected officials spoke before members of the Catonsville Chamber of Commerce Wednesday afternoon at a luncheon.

Here are five things you need to know that came out of the meeting:

1. Catonsville High School received a bond bill for renovations to Comet Park in this year's legislative session, which will help pay for a new concession stand that will face the field and new bathrooms, according to Delegate James Malone.

2. Delegate Steve DeBoy said he expects gay marriage to be taken up again in this year's legislative session. It failed in the House of Delegates by two votes.

3. Revitilization efforts are increasing around Security Square Mall, according to Councilman Tom Quirk, adding that he expects some redvelopment to occur there soon.

4. Quirk also said he's optimistic that the plan to add a Brightview facility to the Catonsville Y property is a better solution.

5. But plans to build a for a group of doctors at Saint Agnes Hospital are still a possibility, Quirk said.
