Here are the top three stories in Catonsville today:
- Good news, Catonsville. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration changed the Atlantic hurricane season projection from 65 percent to 60 percent. The 2022 Atlantic hurricane season is still expected to produce more than a dozen named storms. The new projection could be better for Maryland. (Maryland Patch)
- The Catonsville-based company, Erickson Senior Living, is looking to expand in Florida. Today, Aug. 12, the Palm Beach County Planning Commission will consider a text amendment to the rules of the Agricultural Reserve district that would allow farmland west of Boynton Beach to be rezoned for a senior housing development. (Biz Journals)
- A 20-year-old Catonsville resident has been arrested for allegedly firing several BB rounds toward members of the Baltimore City Fire Department. The accused has been identified as Alysha Williams who, at 10:00 a.m. on Aug. 10, was arrested at her Catonsville residence by Maryland State Police and the U.S. Marshals. Williams was charged with multiple counts of first and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, and discharging a BB gun. (Maryland State Police)
