Is Your Child's School Enrollment Expected to Grow?
Long-term enrollment projections are released by the Baltimore County Public Schools.

Enrollment in Baltimore County Public Schools will grow in the next 10 years to 111,990 students, which is 5,100 students more than the school system currently enrolls.
The growth in enrollment was discussed at Tuesday's meeting, where board members expressed concern that the school system has few options available for land to build on.

In the Catonsville area, most schools' enrollments will grow slightly, with the largest increase in elementary schools expected at .
Enrollment at Arbutus Middle School will see the largest increase in the area, with an additional 200 students expected over the next 10 years. Enrollment at will drop slightly and enrollment at will increase slightly.Â

Schools enrollment figures are also judged against the state-rated capacity of the building, which is the number the Maryland Department of Education deems as the capacity of the school.
Many of the area's elementary schools are above the state-rated capacity.
In the past, enrollment projects have been within 99 percent accuracy, with this year's official enrollment taken at Sept. 30 as 99.89 percent accurate.
"It is very clear we're going to be busting at the seams [in the future]," board member Valerie Roddy said.
