Letter to the Editor: Are Airplanes Too Loud in Catonsville?
A Catonsville resident thinks that more aircraft have been flying over Catonsville to land at BWI.

I’m a neighbor. I live on Park Grove. Over the past several months, I’ve noticed the frequency of aircraft landing at BWI flying overhead (Catonsville) has increased dramatically. The aircraft are low and loud and frequent. Sometimes it goes on for many hours, sometimes just an hour or two, and sometimes, as on 11/13/11, until after 12:00 at night.
I run a business out of my house, am generally home during the day, and have noticed the above situation at all hours of the day and, recently, late evening and even early morning.
If this situation bothers you, as it does me, there is a website (attached): www.maacommunityrelations.com to register complaints. It’s a State of MD, Dept of Transportation, MD Aviation Administration website. If you go to this site, under the “Community News” column on the right side of the page is the option to click on “Submit Noise Complaints” - you can do just that quickly and easily.

I do on a regular basis. I suspect the “BWI folks in charge” will pay more attention and, maybe even make a change or two, if more folks register their complaints.
I understand about “runways closed for repairs and maintenance” and “certain weather conditions;” however, I also understand the “BWI folks in charge” have other options available to them instead of flying jets (low and loud) over relatively densely populated and normally quiet Catonsville.
