  1. Pete Waskiewicz was named IAAM Softball Coach of the Year. Pete is the softball coach at Mount de Sales Academy, an all-girls secondary school located in Catonsville. Pete started the season as assistant coach, but was thrust into the lead role when coach Ken Maggersup took a sudden leave of absence. Pete said, "Our record wasn’t that good. But for the other coaches to
    notice the kind of team I put out there (on the diamond) — to vote for me — makes me feel accepted. It really hit home." (IAAM Sports)
