  1. Timothy Reynolds, 48, was shot and killed on Jul. 7 when he confronted a group of downtown Baltimore squeegee workers with a baseball bat. The victim's father, Caroll Reynolds of Catonsville, expressed his disbelief at his son's untimely death in an interview with the Baltimore Sun. "He should have kept driving," said Carroll Reynolds. A friend of Reynolds recalled the final conversation he'd had with them two weeks prior to his death, where Reynolds had "expressed frustration about [squeegee workers] acting aggressive and pestering him at downtown intersections."   2. On Jul. 7, 34-year-old August “Nick” Candeloro III of Catonsville pleaded guilty to a federal charge of possession of child pornography. He faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years and a maximum of 20 years in federal prison. The judge has scheduled Candeloro's sentencing for Oct. 6. (Department of Justice)
  3. Swami Swaminathan has been elected for a two-year term as chair of the National Kidney Foundation Serving Maryland and Delaware's (NKFMDDE) board of directors. He is also the Chief Information Officer of RELI Group Inc. in Catonsville, where he works on federal programs such as Medicare and Medicaid Services. (Maryland Patch)
