- Yesterday, Aug. 26, the Maryland Department of Health announced the launch of a human monkeypox data dashboard. As of Aug. 26, there have been 461 total confirmed positive cases in Maryland, with 36 cases or 7.8 percent in Baltimore County. The dashboard provides demographics on human monkeypox case counts and vaccination numbers. (Nottingham MD)
- As classes resume amid a teacher shortage, Baltimore County Superintendent Darryl Williams said, "I feel good about this year, particularly because of the enthusiasm" shown at the latest meetings. Fatima Shahzadi, a 13-year-old Baltimore County student, is excited for the school year after attending the county's welcome center for English learners in Catonsville on Aug. 25. (Baltimore Sun)
- Baltimore County Public Library (BCPL) officials remind students and families that the libraries have several tools, tutors, e-sources, and programs to help students throughout the school year.
