Here are the top three stories in Catonsville today:
- Yesterday, Jun. 24, the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, which had legalized abortion in the United States. While 26 states are expected to restrict or ban abortion, Maryland will probably not be one of them. According to the Associated Press, in 1991 Maryland passed legislation "to protect a woman's right to abortion in state law if the Supreme Court should ever restrict abortions." Mark Graber, regents professor at the University of Maryland Carey School of Law, said, "Maryland is choosing right now to not regulate abortion, so abortions will take place as they always have in Maryland." (Maryland Patch)
- Catonsville's annual 4th of July Concert starts at 11:00 a.m. on Jul. 4 at Christian Temple, located at 5820 Edmondson Avenue. Bring your own lawn chair and enjoy a live Brass Quintet playing Patriotic music and a barbershop quartet. (Catonsville Patch)
- Colin Heacock, a Catonsville resident, and Logan Wisnauskas reunite while playing for the Chrome Lacrosse Club of the Premier Lacrosse League. Both are Boys' Latin and Maryland lacrosse program graduates. Chrome (3-0) will play Cannons (1-2) at 6:00 p.m. today, Jun. 25. (Baltimore Sun)
