  1. Due to the recent increase in school violence, a local chapter of the NAACP might call for Baltimore County Schools Superintendent Dr. Darryl Williams to be replaced. Ryan Coleman, the president of the Randallstown chapter of the NAACP, said, "We're very concerned because this is now a civil rights issue for the children." Coleman also said, "this is really the school-to-prison-pipelines." (Fox Baltimore)
  2. Voters will decide on the marijuana legalization initiative on Maryland's November ballot. Political action committee (PAC), a Maryland political group, is campaigning for voters to approve the marijuana legalization initiative and stop the issues of inequity and racism in the state.   3. A youth coach from Dundalk (about 20 minutes from Catonsville) who accused of sexually abusing a child in an Arbutus Recreation Council youth baseball program was convicted. According to prosecutors, Melvin Tucker III, 34, was convicted of second-degree rape and among other offenses by a Baltimore County jury. He now faces a minimum sentence of 15 years in prison, a news release from the Baltimore County State’s Attorney’s Office states. (Baltimore Sun)
